The Full Story
Cat obesity is a growing issue in New Zealand, often caused by a lack of education around nutrition, portion control, and exercise. Kit Cat is a starter kit designed to help new cat owners support their pet’s long term health through accessible educational resources and practical tools. The kit includes nutrition guidance, feeding aids, toys to encourage activity, food samples, and an interactive box, providing owners with everything needed to build healthy habits from the beginning.
visual development
I was drawn to the simplicity of the cat illustrations, as they are easier to animate while still feeling playful and engaging. I also explored bright, energetic colours and lively branding to reflect themes of health, activity, and energy within my cat obesity awareness project.
Styleframes
I used simple backgrounds and clean compositions to keep the focus on the cat, while the playful poses and expressions help bring the character’s personality to life. The overall style is fun, friendly, and easy to engage with.
Logo Development
This final logo was inspired by my own cat’s paw, making it personal and meaningful. I traced his paw shape to create a clean design that feels like each product is stamped with his approval. i designed the logo by blending two of my favorite sketches from
